Medical Director, West

Mona Mhatre

Dr. Mona Mhatre is a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician, currently serving as the inaugural medical director at Banner Rehabilitation Hospital West. Dr. Mhatre has held this leadership role since the hospital’s opening in 2020. In addition to providing exceptional care to her patients, she collaborates closely with hospital administration and offers clinical guidance and mentorship to therapists, nurses and other healthcare professionals in the facility.

Previously, Dr. Mhatre served as the medical director of the acute inpatient rehabilitation unit at Banner Del Webb Medical Center from 2013 to 2020.

Dr. Mhatre earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas and her doctoral degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences - College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dr. Mhatre is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Osteopathic Association and the American Association of Academic Physiatrists.
